⁣NEW DELHI — In a dramatic escalation of political tensions over examination irregularities and the handling of student demonstrations, Opposition leaders and Members of Parliament staged a high-voltage foot march toward 7, Lok Kalyan Marg—the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi—demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Led by Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge alongside Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, scores of Opposition lawmakers hit the streets of Central Delhi. Chanting slogans against the central government, the marchers raised fierce protests over examination paper leak scandals, youth unemployment, and alleged police high-handedness during recent student rallies in the national capital.

Escalation at the Barricades
Security was heightened across Central Delhi as law enforcement agencies erected multi-tiered barricades along key avenues leading toward the Prime Minister's residence. Tensions surged when security personnel halted the march, leading to heated exchanges and the detention of several party workers and leaders.
Addressing reporters amidst the standoff, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the government:

"When students ask for accountability regarding paper leaks and ruined futures, this government responds with batons, tear gas, and detentions. We have marched to the Prime Minister's doorstep to demand answers for the brutalities committed against young students and to insist that Minister Pradhan step down immediately."

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reinforced the demand, accusing the Modi administration of consistently failing the basic test of public accountability.
